The 13th Annual NFMA Conference will take place next week in Las Vegas, March 1 to 3, offering National Flea Market Association members a chance to meet, learn, and discuss a wide range of issues affecting the industry.
The confab opens Tuesday, March 1, with the NFMA Annual Conference Golf Tournament, sponsored by FleaMarketZone.com parent company Sumner Communications. On Wednesday, a full day of sessions begins with Opening Statements by NFMA president Jeff Mann, followed by sponsored sessions, a session on social media, and a session on the NFMA’s presence on Capitol Hill. A cocktail party and silent auction follows in the evening. On Thursday, FleaMarketZone presents a report on the state of the industry, led by this reporter and the publishers of the Merchandiser Media Group. That wil be followed by a session discussing copyright, trademarks, and intellectual property rights. The conference ends with the election of new officers.
According to NFMA executive director Mark Blakewood, one of the big themes of the annual conference is the face-to-face meet-and-greet. To boost that experience for attendees, the NFMA is introducing a new event. “The number one reason market owners attend is for networking and business reasons,” Blakewood says. “So this year we created a networking contest to encourage all conference attendees to exchange business cards and get to know each other. All can participate in this special contest free of charge, and the person who fills up their conference business card holder with the most new business cards from fellow attendees, speakers, and sponsors will win our grand prize.”
