As a veteran flea market vendor herself, Marsha Johnson knows the ropes when it comes to managing a flea market, whether it’s a single booth, or the whole market. Serving as the organizer for the Williamsburg Virginia’s Saturday market for nearly two decades, Johnson works together with fellow flea market vendor and friend, Laura Martin, to set up the monthly market and ensure everyone who wants a vendor space has one.
Formerly held at the local gymnasium or various churches, the Saturday market has found a comfortable home in the large space of the Historic Triangle Community Services Center on Waller Miller Road. As a former church itself, the community center holds a unique spot in the heart of the community. Johnson notes that she and Martin encourage local Seniors to set up a booth at the market to sell their household items as they downsize or clear out their homes. “You just can’t beat the prices, or the selection,” says Martin. “You can find something truly unique and make something special for you or as a gift.”
