Flea markets have been open for just over a month now and things are looking up. Nobody knew what to expect opening weekend, and some consumers are still a little weary about going out in public, but many markets have reported better-than-expected traffic since reopening.
It’s the middle of the summer and shoppers are tired of being stuck inside their homes. Since most flea markets are an open-air community, shoppers feel better about going out and finding a good bargain. As long as markets follow CDC and state guidelines, both buyers and sellers can be kept safe.
Consumers and vendors aren’t the only ones excited about the reopening of the economy. According to the Coalition for a Prosperous America (CPA), The US added 4.8 million non-farm jobs in June as the economy bounced back from the depths of the COVID crisis. Combined with the 2.7 million jobs added in May, the economy has now added back 7.5 million jobs in two months, and that’s not even counting the jobs that were added in July.
There are still many fears and uncertainties about the coronavirus, but there’s a light at the end of the tunnel and things are slowly starting to go back to normal. So let’s keep up the good attitudes and keep selling!
