The 22nd Annual NFMA Conference was held February 11-12, 2020 at Caesar’s Place in Las Vegas. Hundreds of owners, leaders and flea market experts attended the conference to hear expert speakers, discuss industry trends, get legislative updates, and have fun. A huge benefit of the conference is always the networking opportunities, revisiting with old friends and meeting new ones.
The National Flea Market Association exists to serve the public interest and to benefit the flea market industry by fostering high standards of business conduct which merits public trust, according to the company’s mission statement.
The featured speakers always bring lively and educational presentations, and this year was no different. They included: Employee Happiness, Multicultural Marketing, and Event in a Box which was very engaging and hands-on. In addition to being educational, the NFMA is always looking for fresh and unique content to provide their attendees each year.
Based on survey results from the 2019 conference, they added additional breakout sessions for the 2020 conference. This allowed attendees a more intimate setting to ask questions for industry experts. Breakout sessions this year included: Dealer Recruiting, Smaller Markets, Ask the Marketing Expert, Foodservice Roundtable, and Active Shooter.
Leading the Foodservice Breakout Session, Tina Griffith, F&B Director for Traders Village said, “I have attended the NFMA for years and this was my favorite year. The sessions were more interactive, and the attendees appreciated that. Also, breakout sessions are a great way to prioritize what information is helpful to specific markets.”
The NFMA Conference is the ultimate information exchange point within the flea market industry. Large, medium and small markets all provide valuable insight even the most seasoned industry expert will find useful. And with new members attending the conference every year, your networking opportunities are limitless.
