A new flea market is opening June 25 in the Williamsburg neighborhood of New York City. The Northside Market will feature 31 vendors selling art, hand-made, and new products. With artists from online marketplace site Etsy on board, the flea market promises to be a step above the usual.
The upscale market is the creation of two college friends, Alex Sussman and Justin Look, according to a report in Brooklyn Exposed. The venue is a former condo sales office that boasts high ceilings and air conditioning. Sussman had been trying to rent out the building. Look has experience organizing street fairs.

The area is already home to several other swap meets: Artists and Fleas, the Brooklyn Flea and the Saturday “Smorgasburg.” The 4,100-square-foot indoor market has all 31 vendors signed and featured on its Web site, at $75 per day for a 7×5 booth. It will be open on Saturdays and Sundays.
