The complete renovation of Caesar Creek Flea Markets in Wilmington, OH, has crossed the halfway mark as the fourth of seven Buildings re-opens Labor Day Weekend. Loyal vendors of Building 7 have moved back inside into completely new booth spaces and will be open for business at 9 a.m. Saturday, September 1st. The re-opening of Building 7 comes five and a half months after a fire erupted at Caesar Creek on March 16th. The fire destroyed less than 10 percent of the structure, but smoke damage required the Market to be completely gutted and renovated.
One week after the fire, most of the indoor vendors were back in business under the shelters in the outdoor market. Creative vendors like Lana Saxton from Waynesville, owner of C & L Crafts, created her own little shop under the shelter by converting her storage container to an attractive country craft store. This weekend she returns to her brand new Indoor shop where she sells an array of designer duck clothes, bean bags and corn hole games, country crafts and other home décor items. Another long-time vendor, Louie Radcliff of Radcliff Tools, is the largest vendor in Aisle 1 and has been selling every kind of tool imaginable at Caesar Creek Markets for the past 30 years. Mike and Judy Demick of Scrubs Direct, vendors at Caesar Creek since 2007, return to operate their business in Aisle 7 this weekend with one of the area’s largest selections of new famous-maker nursing scrubs, medical uniforms, shoes and accessories.
“The total renovation of the remaining three buildings and the grand re-opening of the Market will come later this Fall,” explains Greg Dove, president of Levin Service Company, the parent company of Caesar Creek Markets. “The full Market will be re-opened in plenty of time for the Christmas Holiday shopping season. Caesar Creek Markets is a unique ‘Retail-tainment’ destination that is recognized as the standard for the modern flea market, offering a unique shopping experience blended with family entertainment including live music and strolling street performers. People come from Columbus and Northern Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Kentucky for the unique shopping experience that is Caesar Creek Markets.”
Caesar Creek Markets is open every weekend year round, plus Labor Day, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine, and is located on State Route 73 at I-71, exit #45 in Wilmington / Clinton County. The Market, built in 1978, has been owned and operated by the Levin Family since 1982 and draws approximately 10,000 people each weekend.
