Wilmington, NC — The Wilmington City Council is giving a thumbs-up to its local flea market vendors, allowing them to expand their Castle Street operations.
Previously, flea markets were only allowed to operate once every 45 days for two consecutive weekends or seven consecutive days. In recent months, however, local businesses had run into potential zoning problems with their flea market operations and had to close down.
The new regulations will allow flea market vendors to expand both their hours of operation and the days on which they can operate. The final details of the expansion have yet to be announced, but it’s expected that the final rules will still require flea markets to comply with all local noise and traffic ordinances. The market is located at 539 Castle Street, Wilmington, NC.
