The Chicago Flea MKT, the newest addition to Chicago’s vibrant indie artisan scene, will be open Sunday, May 5th, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The market will be held in Wicker Park on A.N. Pritzker School’s 40,000 square foot playground at 2009 W. Schiller St., two blocks South of the Damen-O’Hare Blue Line stop. It will feature an assemblage of over 50 Midwest artisans vending a curated mix of artwork, clothing, jewelry, accessories, food, vintage collections and more. A second market date has been announced for Sunday, June 2nd, 2013.
The current lineup of more than 50 vendors includes EFJAE, Daisy Bags, Juliet Jewelry, Michelle Starbuck, Paisley Mazie, In Stolen Moments, Wonder Kids, Abigail Lennon, Kinaloon, Messhall & Co., Puffs of Doom, 240sweet, Truffle Truffle, Bentbottle, Craftbelly, Nicolet Candle Co. and Ethically Engineered. For non-food and pre-packaged food vendors, booth rentals are $125 for a 10 foot by 10 foot space, and $225 for a 10 foot by 20 foot space. Vendors who prepare and serve food on site will pay from $175 to $275 per space.
“I wanted to create a lively outlet for serious makers of unique items for local entrepreneurs who work hard to build their brands,” says Nathan Terrazas, market co-owner. “There are so many talented individuals out there, and we’re bringing them all to one place.” In addition to food and merchandise vendors, artists from One Strange Bird will be on hand, hosting activities and art classes throughout the day.
Chicago Flea MKT is a production of W.P.U.M. LLC. The company is owned and operated by Matthew McGlone and Nathan Terrazas.
