A cell phone accessories maker is moving into the flea market arena with a screen protector product that the company says is superior to everything else out there. “People don’t want their electronics to get scratched up,” says Greg Norris, manager of ClearProtector.com. “A lot of the protectors you see in the market come in a pack of five, and you’ll end up needing all five in a month or two. Our product has a lifetime warranty. Apply it once, with a wet apply, and the product is there for life.” The product is applied wet to a screen, and then lasts for the life of the product.
Norris says that his protector is made from a military grade polyurethane, which makes a device it covers scratch-proof. He has versions for cameras, cell phone, laptops and tablet computers. As tablets and smartphones become more popular, this business is looking up — “Business has been exploding, with more and more demand as more products are being released,” says Norris.
The product and the company is new to flea markets and swap meets. “We’re just breaking into the market,” he says, but he is optimistic. “Cell phone accessories are doing well at flea markets.”
The reason for his optimism is that the product seems a natural fit for a flea market. “A cell phone is something that virtually everyone has, and they may have in a pocket or purse at the flea market,” says Norris. “So we think it will be a great impulse buy, because there aren’t many people it won’t help.”
The financials are good too, he claims. “It should move. They should be able to make some money off of it. It offers good margins.” Norris also mentioned that the product’s excellent packaging is attractive and theft resistant. One variation, ClearPro Ultra, is for screens, and another, ClearPro Carbn, is for non-screen surfaces, such as backs.
