The Daytona Flea & Farmers Market is holding its 4th annual Watermelon Eating Contest, Saturday, June 15th. All ages are welcome and prizes, including watermelons and flea bucks, will be awarded. Participants are invited to register at B&S Produce on row P-South starting at 10 a.m. The contest begins at 1 p.m.
The market is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Vendors can rent a space by the day or month.
The Daytona Flea & Farmers Market opened in March 1981 and has been growing ever since. Situated on 40 acres, it welcomes 2.2 million visitors annually. There are 1,000 covered booths and over three miles of aisles. The market was recently ranked among the top 5 flea markets in the nation by USA Today’s weekend magazine and sixth in the world by Travelchannel.com.
