A new flea market in El Paso, TX has helped to fill the void left by the closing of the nearby Dyer Flea Market earlier this year.
The El Paso Flea Market, located on 10288 Dyer, opened this June. Veronica Zuniga opened the flea market after the Dyer Flea Market was shut down. “A lot of people are really excited, especially the vendors,” she says. “I thought it would help out the vendors who were left without a job. A lot of them do this for a living and they live close to the area, so it’s a perfect fit for them.”
There are currently 67 vendors at the flea market, with room for about twenty more. Zuniga says that if all the space is used, she will look to expand into an empty lot located next door. The market is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 am to 5 pm, with no fee to set up on Saturdays and a $20 charge on Sundays.
The Dyer Flea Market was demolished after 35 years in January to clear way for a Walmart, according to The El Paso Times.
