The Collection Box Flea Market in Mount Sterling, Ky., was destroyed by fire last night. The indoor flea market was fully engulfed by flames when firefighters appeared on the scene, according to a report from Lex18.com, the Lexington, Ky., NBC news affiliate. Part of the building was also home for market owner Carmi Sue Clark. No injuries were reported.
In other fire-related news, more details have emerged on the flea market damaged by fire in Alton, Texas, first reported by FleaMarketZone.com earlier this week. Evidently two teens are alleged to have started the fire — investigators have not yet said whether the fire was accidental or arson. A fire official says that the damage was greater than it might have been because there was a delay in reporting the problem, according to a report on ValleyCentral.com, seeing as customers and vendors were too busy saving their merchandise and escaping the flames to call in the emergency.
