Flea markets are some of the best places to visit. Whether you’re just visiting or living in the area, flea’s are a great way to find bargains, gifts, and entertain the family for cheap for the weekend. If market owners do all of those things well, they can be a pretty big hot spot in the area, which is exactly what happened to this Florida flea.
Visitors Love the Market
All Aboard Flea & Farmers Market is known for their hospitality, entertainment, and shopping experiences and have earned themselves the vote for one of the Top 10 Best Local Attractions by the Daytona Beach News Journal. Every year, the news journal holds a Readers Choice Awards, which is a preliminary write-in for the top attractions in the area.
“I got a phone call from the Daytona Beach News Journal saying that I was nominated for the award and I almost fell on the floor,” Linda Sacks, Director of Sales & Marketing, Property Manager of the market, said. “All of these people wrote us in! I’m happy to just be in the top 10, my bucket list has already been filled.”
The Top 10 Best Local Attractions nominations continue down to the top three for the Readers Choice Awards. Voting ended on August 16, and the News Journal are tallying the votes to see who made the cut. Stay tuned for the results on their website at www.news-journalonline.com.
Honesty, Integrity, Safety, & Philanthropy
All Aboard Flea & Farmers Market has been around for over 35 years. In 2006, All Aboard Properties purchased the market and transformed it into one of the best local attractions that it is today. Linda has truly helped to transform the market through commitment, kindness, and lots of hard work.
“I have four cornerstones of our market: honesty, integrity, safety, and philanthropy,” Linda said. “The honesty and integrity of everyone who comes in the market is important, as well as safety. If you see something, you say something. We are also committed to excellence, so our grounds are immaculate, our bathrooms are immaculate, and everything is so darn pretty.”
Fun Events & Contests
One of the ways All Aboard Flea & Farmers Market entertains both their guests and vendors is by hosting different events throughout the year. The market’s Fourth Annual Coloring Contest was held throughout August, in which participants colored a dolphin picture from SEE Magazine and delivered it to the flea. Participants don’t have to be present to win, and instead of judging who had the best colored-in picture, all of the entrees go into a tote bag and the winner is picked at random.
All Aboard Flea & Farmers Market is also hosting their Fourth Annual HalloWOOF Dog Costume Contest and Parade on Saturday, October 31. Guests and their pets can dress up and parade around the market, and it’s completely free to enter. Linda says they have even seen attendees bring lizards and other pets. Now that’s a parade!
All of these attributes and more are what makes All Aboard Flea & Farmers Market one of the top 10 best local attractions in Daytona Beach. The market has been super busy since they reopened on May 7 due to the pandemic, and they still have the rest of the summer and fall seasons to bring in new and returning guests.
