The owners of Bombshell Vintiques in Altoona, Pennsylvania are now opening their own indoor flea market. The flea, which first opened on February 14, 2015, is open Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 4pm. The idea of opening a flea market came from a place of expertise, as Co-Owner Amy Ake, used to be flea market vendor. “It was something that I always enjoyed doing,” said Ake. “I became an auctioneer from this, so it all goes together perfectly.”
The newly opened flea market is connected to the Bombshell Vintiques store and houses twenty-one tables inside as well as hope for an outdoor space come spring time. The shop also has an antique game room so customers can have a unique experience with going through the shop, game room and then the flea market all at once. Ake says her hope for the flea market is to generate more traffic to the downtown area. “We want to help revitalize the area and make it a destination,” said Ake. “Our downtown has so much history it feels right to be in this area and we want people to experience that feeling.”
Bombshell Vintiques was previously a candy store, so before you leave be sure to check out their throwback candy selection. “It is a whole walk back in time when you come here,” said Ake. If interested in joining the flea market as a vendor, call (814) 946-7630 to reserve a table.
