The Soap Guy, launched by Jeff Dorrian in 2002, continually strives to make unique, quality items that incorporate products from nearby farms. Additionally, everything is made in Northwest Indiana and none of the items are imported. To get the rich lather these soaps provide, for example, Dorrian uses oil from locally grown soy and corn, rather than the imported palm oil commonly used by other soap makers.
Activated charcoal soap
The Soap Guy’s newest product is their “black soap” made from activated charcoal. “The idea behind using activated charcoal is that it pulls the impurities out of the skin. This has become a gigantic mover for us and our resellers are selling a ton of this soap,” reports Dorian. “It is a very unique item.”
Greek yogurt and sea salt soaps
The Soap Guy’s diverse line also includes Greek yogurt soap, which has rapidly become one of its hottest items. With real Greek yogurt in every bar, it is presently made in six fragrances, of which the two best sellers are cucumber lime and lemon spice. Another unique product that is selling extraordinarily well is The Soap Guy’s sea salt soap. “There are a couple of reasons for this,” Dorrian shares. “Sea salt has properties that are very good for the skin. We do not make any medical claims, but we do get feedback from our customers saying it has helped alleviate a wide variety of issues.” Sea salt soap is available in 20 fragrances.
The Soap Guy worked over a year developing its new line of body butter available in an assortment of fragrances. “As the winter approaches, it is going to be very popular as a remedy for dry skin,” Dorrian explains.
The company also supplies bulk bath salts, milk bath, and lotions. Soaps are available in a range of quantities for every need, from 12 5-ounce bars for $23.95, to 60 5-ounce bars for $109.95. The company offers a guarantee that it will not be undersold, same day shipping on many items, and free shipping for all orders over $75.
