The Merchandiser Group is deeply saddened to report the passing of Stanley Shevitz on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the age of 74. A Brooklyn native, Stanley was born on January 17, 1946, the son of the late Milton and Celia Dorf Shevitz. Stanley was a high school graduate and worked, among other places, in his family’s floor covering business.
“My deepest condolences go out to the entire Shevitz family,” E. Scott Sumner, CEO of Sumner Communications, said. “For close to 20 years, Stan was an integral part of both our publishing community and the very fabric of our business. He will be dearly missed by all of us at Sumner Communications and by everyone he so faithfully served in central Florida.”
Stanley was a funny and kind person that everyone who met remembers with a smile. He was a long-term flea market vendor, and also worked as a cab driver in the Orlando area. In memory of Stanley, the family requests contributions to Temple Israel, 50 Moss Road, Winter Springs 32708 or the American Diabetes Association www.diabetes.org/donate.
