Owner of the Anderson Jockey Lot William Richard “Dicky” McClellion Jr. passed away on the evening of Tuesday, June 19, 2012 after a battle with cancer. A graduate of Palmetto High School, Furman University and the University of South Carolina College of Law, McClellion was an attorney, pilot and developer. However, he was most passionate about helping aspiring entrepreneurs make a profit through Jockey Lot, a flea market which is located on a 65 acre lot near Belton, SC. Other Jockey Lots popped up in Texas, North Carolina and Florence, SC, following the success of McClellion’s original location in Belton.
Friends, family and loyal customers have set up a memorial to McClellion at the Belton Jockey Lot in memory of the jovial man. The flea markets will continue to run on their normal operating schedule, every weekend on Saturday from 7am to 5pm and on Sunday from 8am to 5pm.
