A new marketplace called Sunny Hill Flea Market has launched in New Florence, MO. The outdoor venue is open Saturdays, April through October, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., or later when special events take place. Vendors of new, used and antique merchandise are welcome. The market presently has around 50 vendors and can accommodate around 100 to 120 sellers. The booth rental fee is $20 per day, and covered spots, as well as an indoor concession area, are available. Vendors also are welcome to sell out of their RVs.
Coined “A Market with a Festival Feel,” owner Aaron Clark and manager Cindee Tacker have several events planned for the next few months. Christmas in July, with Santa flying in from Hawaii, will be held July 20. Activities have not been confirmed but may include Christmas carol karaoke and a magician. Dog Days of Summer will be held August 24.
Sunny Hill Flea Market’s big festival event will be held Friday and Saturday, September 13 and 14, to coincide with the Tough Mudder adventure challenge coming to the area. “People come from all over the country, and it is supposed to bring $2.5 to $5 million to the area,” Tacker explains. Tough Mudder is a ten to 12 mile obstacle course designed by British Special Forces to test strength, stamina, mental grit and camaraderie. Worldwide, more than 700,000 people have participated in Tough Mudder, raising more than $5 million for the Wounded Warrior Project.
