The Mountain Heritage Marketplace & Expo Center, in Micaville, NC, is hosting monthly Mountain Market Days, April through December. Mountain Market Days will be held the first Saturday of the month, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The outdoor crafts fair, with booths rented to vendors selling crafts, collectibles, antiques and more, will be marketed heavily to surrounding communities to bring area visitors to the market to shop. Music, food and more will be a part of the monthly festivities. The mission of the Mountain Market Days is to support local crafters, artists and vendors, while drawing visitors to the area and supporting the large Mt. Mitchell Crafts Fair each August.
In addition, the Mountain Heritage Marketplace & Expo Center is holding a new flea market every Friday and Saturday in March, provided another event is not scheduled, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Residents can enjoy indoor Mountain Market Days at the newly opened Expo section of the future Mountain Heritage Marketplace & Expo Center.
On a first come, first serve basis, vendors can rent a 10 foot by 10 foot space for $10 for one day or $15 for two days. Vendors can also sell out of their vehicles in the back festival lot for $5. Set up times are Thursdays 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays at 7 a.m. Market hours are 8 a.m to 2 p.m. Merchandise will include handmade crafts, clothes, tools, toys, baby items, housewares, furniture, antiques, crafts, farm goods and foods, outdoor gear, sporting goods and more.
