The Tulsa Village Market is holding its grand opening this Friday, June 25, at the former Northland Shopping Center at Hartford Avenue and 36th Street North in north Tulsa, Okla. The Greenwood Chamber and the nonprofit Neighbor for Neighbor Inc. are partnering to put together the market. The Greenwood Community Development Corp., an arm of the chamber, is managing the space, including the leasing.
According to Reginald King, business resource manager for the GCDC, the indoor flea market will cover about 4,800 square feet and have room for about 20 booths. Committed vendors so far include apparel, gifts, toys, and shoe sellers. “I have 11 signed up so far,” says King. “We had a couple more calls today.”
The market will be open Thursday through Saturday, to start, but that may expand to other days, says King. A six-foot table will cost $60 to rent for the weekend, but as a grand opening special, King reports, “the first day is free.”
A report on the Tulsa World Web site quoted local business leaders who hope the project will help revitalize the area.
