According to a report in the Poughkeepsie Journal, the city of Poughkeepsie is considering a proposal to convert an old electrical parts factory into a year-round indoor flea market. A public hearing was held yesterday, and if the city gives its approval, the market could be up and running by Labor Day.
The building, described on its own Web site, covers 100,000 square feet and could hold 200 vendors, market operator Sherry Dicesare told the Journal. The market would operate on Saturdays and Sundays. The former Fargo Manufacturing site off Salt Point Turnpike is owned by Eli Nassim. The site includes a 500-car parking lot, and, according to the Journal, would be the town’s second flea market.
