Quakertown Farmers Market and Flea Market is under new ownership for the first time since the mid 40’s. A local group of investors has now taken over the market with plans to add modern amenities and upgrades, all while keeping the old fashioned services the market is well known for. “We plan to keep the market a farmers and flea market for a long time,” said John Chism, General Manager and Partner at Quakertown. “The partners are a very experienced group and are bringing multiple talents to the table.” The market will continue with its current management team but are looking to expand and switch up the variety of merchants at the market in both the retail and food sector. “We have a great base here with our merchants and now we are just looking to get a bit more contemporary in that area and with what the public is looking for.” In addition to being under new ownership, Quakertown is also continuing its monthly events, with the Back to School Safety Day taking place at the end of August. The police and fire departments come to take part, fingerprinting kids and taking pictures with them, as well as customers receiving free school supplies at the event.
