Ridgewood Market was founded just three years ago by local vendor Sarah Feldman. “I wanted to create a community of artists and designers right in my neighborhood,” says Feldman. When the market first started in 2013, Feldman was selling her own handcrafted jewelry. Now, the market is “really going strong,” and Feldman dedicates all of her time at the market to making sure everything runs smoothly. “Every major decision is made for the vendors.”
The market is held monthly at Gottscheer Hall in Ridgewood, NY. Each event is held as either a “Night Market” 5 – 11pm on Saturday, or a “Brunch Market” 11am – 5pm on Sunday. Their next monthly market is June 12th 11am – 5pm. Every market event features a DJ and plenty of German and American food and drinks. There are 40 vendor spots, which range from $59 – $69 per space. All vendors feature antique, collectible, or handmade goods.
Ridgewood’s next special event is a partnership with Out in the Streets festival July 16th – 17th. Hundreds of people will attend the 4th annual festival, held at the historic Onderdonk House in Ridgewood, Queens. The house is located on 2 acres of land, and was built back in the 1600s. Feldman is currently in the process of organizing vendors for this event.
