The Silver Lake Flea Market will provide roughly 300 indoor and outdoor spaces on Saturdays and Sundays, beginning Saturday, December 1. The handicap-accessible market will operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with free admission and parking for patrons, as well as free electricity and trash removal for vendors. Additionally, ice will be free to food vendors with booths at the market’s food court. Indoor booths are 8′ by 10′ and outdoor booths are 10′ by 20′. The rental fee is $35 for a weekend. As a bonus, all spaces are protected by 24-hour security from cameras, alarms and an overnight guard on duty.
“I’ve had several markets before, but was inspired to pick this spot because it’s so central in Providence,” says Lloyd Morse, market manager. “That’s what makes it a great location and I think the flea market will do well. We want to give people a shot to make some money.” Morse plans to do a major advertising campaign to give the market as much publicity as possible. He describes the coming market as “diverse, essentially a ‘United Nations’ of Providence, because we’ll have people from every walk of life that you could imagine.”
The market is located at 10 Rosario Drive, Providence, RI 02909. More information about booth rentals, events and amenities can be obtained by calling 401-453-1060, emailing silverlakefleamarket@gmail.com or visiting www.silverlakefleamarket.com.
