Sales of Toilet Tattoos, removable appliqués for toilet lids, are growing at a rapid pace, says Celeste Massullo, owner of Lena Fioré, the company that produces the product. “This was our year. We’ve sold more than three million pieces in the last 12 months.” The Steve Harvey Show, The Wall Street Journal and the Huffington Post are just a few of the media outlets that recently aimed their spotlights on Toilet Tattoos, ensuring consumer awareness and product sales as well.
Toilet Tattoos are made from electrostatic vinyl film and require no adhesive. “They are a hygienic alternative to the rugs typically used to decorate toilets,” says Massullo. “They can be cleaned with a disinfectant spray and don’t harbor as many germs as rug material does.”
Toilet Tattoos are reusable and don’t leave residue on the lid. To apply a decal, the consumer peels the appliqué from its backing, places it on the toilet lid and smooths it down with a hand or towel. Both elongated seat tattoos, which measure 12 inches by 15 inches, and round tattoos, measuring 12 inches by 13.5 inches, are available. There are 10 design collections with artwork including cartoon frogs and princesses, animal prints and a wide variety of outdoor scenery. “The pictorial ones are some of the best sellers,” Massullo points out. Toilet training tattoos are also popular among families with young children. Vendors can order Toilet Tattoos for a wholesale price of $3.95 each, with a minimum opening order of 36 pieces. Suggested retail is $9.99.
